PACT (Public Art for Community Transformation) is a summer “mural crew” program. As we enter our fourth year of painting, we have learned that this program has been a pivotal part of cultivating and expressing the uniqueness and diversity found in Geneva. PACT operates as a part of the Geneva Rising Arts Foundation (GRAF), and in collaboration with Hobart and William Smith, Ontario County Workforce Development, and multi-generational members of the community.

PACT is a research and social action project under the direction of Professor Michelle Martin-Baron and Victor Pultinas that strives to transform public spaces through art that sparks discourse and cultivates diversity. We’ve successfully completed five murals over four years: two on the campus of HWS, one in the tunnel on Exchange Street next to Phoenix Flavors, and two on Castle Street. Our vision is to continue to annually add murals to Geneva, painted in collaboration with community members, including HWS.
